There was the spring sun as a constant warmth on his back, and the spongy debris that flew back beneath his loping paws. The emerald green leaves glittered and swayed above his head like a forest of jewels, dappling the ground with lights and shadows, dappling his pelt and naming him a wraith. The male wove in and out of the trunks, as if daring himself not to miscalculate and take a wrong step. The forest around him was empty of noise, save for the light tell-tale patter of his paws as he ran through his territory. The trees were mainly spread apart, which lessened the challenge but at least gave him a good view of where he was headed. It was a good thing he wasn't on the hunt, else his jaws would return bearing nothing but a grin from his wild flight.
Callum flew over the ground as if the very wind itself ran with him. This was one of the very few times when he was free of duty and could go without doubt to spend some time as he would like. This time, he had decided, was best spent running, something he believed could never be a waste. The last of the snow had melted away, but the air still held that last little bite before Spring was completely accepted. Pulling up, he watched his heated breath mist away in the air as he panted, gathering his second wind. His dappled pelt sparkled with gathered drops of morning dew, for it was only a few moments ago that the sun had finally greeted the sky in full.
To his left, a small twig snapped a distance off and Callum's ears pricked, swiveling his head around to try and locate the source. No prey would be nearby after that episode of his, so what was it? It was true, the male had come much farther from his pack than expected, now he was on full alert. Had he made a grievous mistake, coming out here alone?

The warm, misty air gathered around Cecile as she ran between trees dodging them as they came before her. Her amethyst eyes squinting whilst she ran from her pack. She was energetic and full of excitement. She felt like every step she took was a step closer to freedom. She pounced playfully over a large log venturing ahead. Before she knew it she went head first into the branch of a tree. The branch snapped in half, as she fell backwards grasping the earth beneath her with her dagger-like claws. They scrapes along the ground and at last her head fell softly onto the grass. The dew that remained from the rain that day before soaked into her fur, before she had the chance to rise to we feat. Her neck felt sore but she removed that from her train of thought and continued her journey into the wild. She stopped at a halt and peered through the trees. She could smell another wolf. The strong odor of a male whipped through the air. Creeping forward with her back bent low she glanced side to side for what seemed to be a male wolf somewhere beneath this forest. The femme swiftly turned directions, and moved slowly toward a pool of water. It was odd to see a pond of water in the middle do the forest but at least now she could have a drink. After quenching her thirst she felt tired she she moved forward and found a small rock just the right size. She decided to sleep there tonight so that she could continue her adventure in the morning. She wrapped herself up in a ball ready to go to sleep.

There was a scent on the wind, carrying the tell-tale gift of water and wolf. Faint, but unmistakable and all too noticeable now that he had detected it. Once the scent had curled itself into his nostrils, he couldn't get it out. It smelt of female, and an unfamiliar one at that. His inner wolf wanted to find this female, and inborn curiosity urged him forward until there was no way he could consciously say no. His paws turned of their own accord as his head lifted to the air, drawing in a deep breath.
He couldn't go gallivanting off this time, he'd have to take things slow and stealthy. He didn't want to frighten off whoever this wolf was, no he had too many questions for that. If he freaked her, they'd never be answered. However, he neither wanted to be mistaken for some creepy guy sneaking up on her, that would do nothing but leave a bad impression and probably put her on automatic defense. His mind churned along with his paws as he tried to figure out a plausible plan. When no genius plans came to mind, he pushed the problem out of his mind and decided to just 'wing it', as it were.
Stepping around a trunk slowly, Callum stepped into a grove of trees, complete with its own in-built pond. For a moment his base needs came over and he almost bounded over to quench his thirst, this was before of course he sighted the one he had been searching. His nose had not lied, it was indeed a female, he could tell by her shape. However, it seemed she was currently asleep, and this puzzled and irritated him. It would be rude to wake her, so now he'd just have to wait. Callum was a great deal patient enough, but he grew bored very fast. He didn't mind waiting but having something to do while he waited would prove to be much easier on his attention-span.
With a sigh, the dappled grey and brown male shook his head, flicking his feathered tassel across the ground lightly as he made his way to the crystalline pool to drink. Sparkling droplets caught the sunlight as they dropped from his muzzle when he lifted his head, quenched at last. Turning, he lounged himself out quite contently beside the pool, laying his head on both of his large fore-paws, one left ear cocked constantly to keep his senses on alert for trouble around him.

Dreams floated through her mind, telling tales of things that might possibly come true, or atleast Cecile wished they would. To have a mate. The company she craves. She has always wanted someone; someone who would care for her, love her, and most of all someone that she could trust, and rely on. She woke just as her dream had ended. Lifting her head slightly just so she could look around to spot anyone or any danger about. She breathed in the air and glanced around. As she was half asleep her vision was severely blurred, she could barely see anything. She rose to her feet and peered ahead. She began to move forward but as she started to awaken, she caught the scent of another. It was very noticeable and very close. She turned fiercely behind her, and realized that this was no new scent but it was actually the same odor she smelt previously! Staring ahead she saw a male sitting beside the water. She didn't know if he was asleep or not. There was no lying that she was tempted to approach the stranger. So quietly she shuffled forward trying not to wake him as that would be plain disrespectful. Turning her body towards the male she saw his amazing markings, and she really couldn't help the fact that just by seeing his body she was slightly attracted to him. She looked at him with her large amethyst eyes and suddenly it appeared in her mind that this is the man from her dreams. It was him, and she knew it. A sudden joy struck, and she began moving faster towards him. She stood beside him, waiting for him to react just in case he was asleep. There was no doubting that she wanted to grab him and say you are the man of my dreams but she knew that he couldn't possibly do that as he would immediately think she is crazy. So she decided she would say hi. "Um.... Hello...." She softly spoke. So she sat patiently hoping for a response from him.

Amber eyes flickered open at the soft voice. Blowing out a sigh, Callum noticed with some disappointment that he had been snuck up on, and had indeed dozed off without meaning to. Still, there was nothing he could do about it now, so the male merely shook it off and prepared himself to face this new problem. He had been correct, this was an unfamiliar female, once he had not had the pleasure, or disdain of meeting yet. He had yet to know.
Feeling vulnerable lying down while she stood, Callum gathered his paws and pushed himself to his feet, noticing quite happily that he stood taller than the girl herself, though it was no great surprise. His first glance had not done her justice. She was lithe and slim with meat and muscle in just the right places to give her a eye-catching physique. The fur was light and loose over her body in shades and ripples, like water spilling over a rounded stone, it flowed without pause over her.
Taking a single step back, Callum gave a jump as his paw landed in the cold water, but shook it off. Ducking his head, somewhat awkwardly, the male huffed then deemed it in his best interest to reply to the lovely female before she thought him a doddering idiot. He had already backed away from her and into a pond, so chances were her views weren't all that high of him already. He had merely been stunned by her presence and beauty, he had had no choice but to recoil in shock. "Oh, I....Hey." He finished lamely, momentarily considering bashing his head against a nearby rock to end this horrible performance of his. "Who are you, luv?" He asked, voice alight with honest curiosity, before wincing at the nickname he had referred to her with. It was something natural to him that had just slipped out.

The deep husky tone of the male's voice, made her feel warm. The young femme answered him politely " my name is Cecile, what's yours? " with her eyes blinking constantly from embarrassment. She wanted to explode; she wanted to tell him that it was meant to be and that they were meant for each other, except the fact that he would think she is crazy. So she continued to play it cool. She really liked him, but she had the bad habit of shutting herself in and becoming shy. So before she knew it she wasn't herself but almost like a turtle locked in its shell. She closer examined his fur checking if this was really the one and surely enough it was. She didn't know what to say from here on, whether she should continue to be shy, if she should be outgoing, or what. But then the sudden idea came to her mind, to just let him make the first move, well hopefully he would or else she wouldn't know what to do. Waiting silently for his response, her beautiful big eyes were glowing as the sun reflected off them like glass. His dappled fur was amazing and it was merely the same as the wolf from her dreams.
